I attended the 32nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration in Springfield, Missouri on Saturday. The weather was stellar, the scene was green and fun was had by all! Before the parade started there was a Irish Pet Contest with all sorts of animals dressed in their best "Irish" costumes, there were many different critters donning the green, such as a pot-belied pig, a goat, alpacas and even a green iguana and of course a bunch of fun loving dogs!
After the parade, I milled around the food court and sampled some of the treats available and moved to find the best shady spot for the parade. The parade was as much fun as the pet contest, all the entries were dressed in the traditional green and everyone had a smile! There were lots of old car entries, floats and marching Irish bands. I've got a bunch of pictures of that on my Flickr page. I couldn't believe how warm it was that day, almost 80F in March?
Thanks Anna for setting me straight on what it was!
