This was the breakfast they served and as you an tell it had everything! Even OJ and coffee and the pancakes were great!
SourceThis weekend I attended the Pancakes in the Park event at the Dickerson Park Zoo and let me tell you, it was a very pleasant experience indeed! The fact that they opened early, 7:00am was a real bonus for me because of course it's the coolest time of day, and the sun wasn't up so far that it interfered with the picture taking. Besides that, I even got to eat something I don't usually have, pancakes and sausage, and they were great!
I'm not going to spend much time here telling you about the visit since I want to get right to the images I captured, so here is a sample of those. You can find the entire set on Flickr or if you prefer you can watch this slideshow.

I got more than one image of the next bird, but I'm choosing this one for display.

There were at least three of these beautiful Mute Swans in the pond and they even came really close because the zoo provides a "feeding station" that you can buy some nuggets for them. I didn't have any change or they would have gotten some...

The American White Pelican was getting his morning stretch.

There was a large stand of Chilean Flamingo there at the zoo.

I've got other pics of the whole group, but this one is my favorite. Watch the slide show to see the others.

This guy was full of antics.

A Blue and Yellow Macaw would not stay in one place, so I had to settle for upside down!

The Great Green Macaw was looking for his breakfast. There is another shot of him on the slideshow as well.

The Peacock roam all over the zoo, and this one was courting a pea hen shaking his tail feathers and making all sorts of noise.

I couldn't get him to stand still so I had to shoot when I could, even if a pole was in the way.

Last but not least, I can't leave the zoo without checking out the lions!

He's the King of the Zoo!

I think she may have smelled breakfast! There are a few more of the lion and lioness on the slideshow.
