I was messing around this morning and found a really neat Halloween Avatar builder. You can use one of the pictures on your computer or use the ones provided. I have tried making some with my own pictures and now I can't decide which one to use. So I'm posting them here with a poll for you all to help me decide.

PenniD, I just figured out how to load the pictures in Firefox! Go to Account, and then Click on the "Tools" page from your browser commands. Click on "Page info" then "perimissions" and uncheck "Use Pop-up windows" to allow. Then I closed and reopened
"Account" and it let me change the avatar.

Redshadow, I'm going to have an article up early tomorrow for a Halloween party, I'm soliciting anyone that can't upload themselves to send me a picture via email and I'll post it to the article. If you want to do that we will have to exchange personal email addresses because you can't send pics via NV. Just let me know.

I will look for your article and comment. I am not yet set up load a pictuire in my computer. My trrouble is different on NV. All works on windows 7 but on firefox my avatar does not appear and I cannot comment. I went to tools and followed what you said, but Firefox is still the same.cki remark.

There is nothing wrong with IE7, I used it for a long time. I just recently started using FF so I'm not smart enough to try and help you out there. Well, as far as the avator goes, the one you have up is great as is.

Oh what fun! I voted for the 2nd one - all 3 showed up for me. I had problems getting pics to load this morning and then had problems changing my avatar. Last week I could only change it under "Account" this morning that wouldn't work and I had to go back under "Customize" to get it to let me change it. Maybe there are Newsvine spooks and gremlins out playing this morning?

I didn't even realize you could change it under account, so I just went and tried that out but it didn't work either. I'm going to try with Chrome and IE8 next and see what happens.

Hi robynlewis, I think we figured out the avatar problem. Just go to your Account page and you can change it there. Make sure you have enabled popups though. Because the function to change is in a popup window.

I like redshadow's idea. Why not? One for today, one for Halloween and one for All Saint's Day (or whatever it's called by everyone). That's celebrated Hallow's eve, Halloween and All Saint's Day, kind of an across the board celebration.

I picked # 3. I like werewolves. They're so misunderstood. And one wearing glasses is especially cool.

I'm going as a ghoul. White death mask and raggedy looking death shroud. At least, that's what I'm planning at the moment.
