The Missouri State Emergency Management Agency has told Springfield officials to expect 600 Hurricane Gustav evacuations by Sunday evening. Red Cross shelters will be opening in cities across the state, including Springfield, to house a total of nearly 3,000 residents who are fleeing the Gulf Coast.

All of the 600 people are expected to arrive at Springfield-Branson National Airport on Sunday.
