Some days are more special than others. Today was one of those special days. I have been the recipient of two acts of kindness.
While I was sitting outside this morning enjoying the start of my day with a cup of coffee. A young neighbor girl from across the way came out of her building carefully carrying a plate. It was kind of early and she caught my eye, and as I watched her purposely walking down the stairs and across the drive I realized she was coming toward me. She seems to be around 6 or 7 years old and was wearing a pretty little pink dress. As she walked up I saw what it was she was had one the plate, two cinnamon rolls! She told me they were for me. I almost cried! I thanked her for being so kind and that I really appreciated her generosity. She smiled, turned around and walked back home.
I thought to myself what a wonderful way to start a day. Her simple act of kindness put a smile on my face and warmth in my heart. That glow stayed with me the entire day.
Well, now I get to the second act of kindness. I guess she and her mother have adopted me as there new apartment grandmother. Because tonight my doorbell rang and there she was holding the sweetest picture and told me she had colored it for me! It has a curled up little kitty, a bird and some flowers on it and the words, "Prity Flowrs"
I asked her what her name was and she told me Payton, this darling little girl has just made me one of the happiest people in the world tonight. I decided I had to share this sweet story with the rest of the world so they could share in my moment.
Her Mother is raising a very kind and compassionate little girl and I applaud her for it. Thank you very much Peyton's Mom. And a special thanks to you Payton for making me feel like the world is a good place.
